Freerice is a non-profit website that is owned by and supports the United Nations World Food Programme. Visitors of the website can participate in quizzes on various subjects and earn rice for each correct answer they give which will then be given to hungry people around the world. The website is a good way to see what you remember from a subject while also helping someone in need.

ict Games is a website that offers literacy-based games. Each literacy-based game offered on the website has a specific objective that targets a different aspect of literacy. The games are a good way for students to work on their literacy skills while also having fun.

Crash Course: US History is a YouTube Channel with lots of informative videos. Each video on the playlist gives information on various topics from US History. The link goes to the US History playlist but other subjects can also be found in the channel.

Awesome Stories is a website with a compilation of sources presented in a story context. Awesome Stories takes readers on a guided tour of relevant source materials through the use of primary and secondary sources.

Stuff You Missed in History Class, as the name suggests, talks about parts of history not normally covered in history class. The podcast often features perspectives of events/people in history that are often overlooked.

DocsTeach is a primary source platform developed by the National Archives to encourage students to think like historians. DocsTeach offers access to thousands of primary sources that students can use to get a real sense of what it was like to live in the past. Interactive lessons can also be made on DocsTeach so that lessons can be more fun and engaging.

HarpWeek is a website featuring political cartoons from different time periods. The cartoons give a good sense of national sentiment for a given time period and for past US presidential elections. The website also provides explanations to give context for each political cartoon.

Reading Quest is a website geared toward social studies teachers who want to more effectively engage their students with the content in their classes. Reading Quest has strategies and resources, such as QAR or KWL worksheets, to aid students in comprehension.
